We are fortunate to have so many beautiful options for Virginia winery weddings. From Potomac Point Winery in Stafford, the location for today’s featured wedding, to Loudoun County vineyards, couples have many opportunities to a unique wedding location. Jayci and Trevi began their love affair with vineyards after visiting Beaujolais in France and hill country in Australia. They knew that they wanted to host their wedding stateside at a local vineyard, and they set off tasting up and down the coast until they found their perfect match! We love the iron cupola that hosts ceremonies at Potomac Point Winery, and the long rolling hill which allows for a romantic bridal processional to the wedding! Thank you to Timmester Photography and Kelley Cannon Events for sharing this winery wedding with us today and best wishes to the newlyweds!
From the Bride: “We visited several vineyards during our courtship, including Beaujolais in France, and the Yarra Valley vineyards in the hill country outside of Melbourne, Australia. At the Chandon vineyard we shared a romantic varietal tasting, which was paired with an exquisite meal and a superb view. The experience became the inspiration for our wedding vision. We searched for a vineyard stateside, that reminded us of the natural beauty of Australia Wine Country. We set out wine tasting up and down the east coast until we found this beautiful, wonderful winery in Stafford, VA. It combined the natural beauty of the vines and a sloping landscape, AND (most importantly) a fantastic wine selection.”
“Some of our favorite details were that Jayci’s brother played Cannon in D on the violin for the bridal processional. When we jumped the broom after the vows, and our beautifully decorated pergola at the ceremony site. It was draped in sheer fabric and had cascades of flowers.”
Did you Splurge or Save on anything for the wedding: “We skipped videography. Planning a wedding from over 200 miles away was a challenge, so we opted to splurge on a fantastic wedding coordinator who acted on our behalf. We focused on highlighting elements that represented our love of wine, elegance, adventure, and flair for the avant garde. “
Tips from the couple: “Identify your priorities early in the process, and allow your budget to conform accordingly. You will not be able to have everything, but you should have the elements that are most important to you. Hire a great wedding coordinator, who will listen to your vision and then empower her/him to manage the small details. Lastly, do not let the sticker shock get in the way of the rest of your life. We, along with our guests, look back fondly at our special day. “
Congratulations to Jayci and Trevi! Thank you for sharing your Virginia vineyard wedding with us!
