Welcome back to part two of Kim and James’ spring wedding in Virginia! They kept the simple and classic theme going through to their reception. (Did you see their wedding ceremony?? If not, go check it out!) Stephen Gosling Photography was there to capture all the moments and memories and all of those pops of purple! I just wish someone was able to save me a plate and some dessert!
From Kim: Our main priorities were photographer, food and venue. Once we picked those three items, everything else just fell into place. Food was our big ticket item. James and I love food. We go out to eat all the time and love trying new things, so we really wanted the food to be delicious. The feedback from our guests was that they loved the food, especially the deserts!
From Kim: Our party favors were dish towels that I got made from Thailand. I am from Thailand and thought it would be neat to incorporate my heritage with the favors. We had them embrodied with our names and our wedding date.
Kim’s advice for other couples in the DC area planning a wedding:
Have fun with the wedding planning process! Don’t let the little details overwhelm you, most people won’t remember them anyway. We picked things that we felt were important to us and then let the experts take care of the rest. For example, the flowers – I gave our florist the budget and let her work her magic, and they came out beautifully and it was one less thing I had to worry about. I really trusted the vendors we hired to stay within budget and to trust their creative abilities.
On the actual wedding day, remember to breathe and enjoy yourself. It really does move by so quickly, so give yourself some time to just take it all in and enjoy the moment.
