We are back with more of Eileen and Greg’s wedding at a goat farm in Virginia! Be sure to check out their lovely, outdoor summer wedding ceremony right here. Lisa Maria from Sweet Tea Photography was there to photograph all the pretty little vintage, country chic moments from their reception. Between the goats, the bright sunflowers, and the sweet little moments, I can’t get enough!
From Eileen: First and foremost, we wanted our wedding to be fun for everyone. We wanted the environment to be relaxed and playful while still elegant. Things like lawn games and good food were important to us for guests’ enjoyment. We also searched for venues out in Shenandoah to be out of the city and in the mountains.
From Eileen: Part of the fun of planning our wedding was all the personal touches and handmade contributions. It began with invitations that I, as an aspiring children’s book illustrator, designed and painted. My wedding veil was handmade by my mom, as well as the handmade bunting to decorate the venue. I also handpicked different vintage lockets for myself and the bridesmaids, as well as lockets which hung from the bridal bouquet of those who couldn’t be with us at the wedding. My dad made a beautiful set of cornhole boards, which I painted with the appropriate goat theme. He also contributed to the beer available for guests, which was an assortment of different brews made by him and Greg and me. We also made our own wedding favors, small bottles of mead (honey wine).
