Kristen and Aaron’s wedding reception from Porter Watkins Photography was gorgeous in many a way. They continued that royal jewel tone palette, and then they added a chocolate candy bar on top of that! (Before I go on, did you check out their outdoor wedding ceremony?) Clearly this wedding was a treat for the eyes, the taste buds and the ears. Finding the perfect DJ was their top priority!
From Kristen: My main priority for the wedding was that it be a really fun party. Finding a great DJ was a top priority from day one.
I love flowers, I almost always have fresh flowers in my home and I knew that was going to be something I’d want to be a focal point at the wedding.
Kristen’s advice to other DC-area couples:
Towards the end we were getting a little tight on budget and we ended up going with a simple buttercream cake with ribbon instead of the more elaborate fondant cake we had originally planned on. We probably saved 50% and the cake was beautiful and delicious. Get references for your DJ, or if your at another wedding and they have an awesome DJ get his information. I feel that a DJ totally makes or breaks at the reception. Ours keep the party going and everyone dancing.
