We always talk about how much fun some of the Washington DC area wedding receptions we feature here look, and how much we wish we could have been in attendance. But, have you ever heard us talk about a boat riding, lake swimming, tube flipping kind of fun reception!? I didn’t think so! To start, Jill and Steve had a simple and elegant Virginia wedding ceremony and reception, captured by Marcella Treybig Photography, at their family’s lakeside summer home. But after the “I do’s” were said, and one of Jill’s daughters gave an adorable speech, the guests grabbed their beach towel favors and headed to the lake for a day of fun and games on the water! Now, that’s how everyone should end a wedding!
From Jill: Our wedding was a “fun in the sun” day at a beautiful house on Lake Anna.
We also had beach towels embroidered for all of our guests as wedding favors. Instead of putting our names and our wedding date we put the nick names we have for our friends and family on the towels so they remember who they were from.
The speeches my in-laws made we’re the highlight of our wedding. It was so great to hear that they love me as much as I love them.
My husband and I are really playful and wanted to “play” with our guests all day. So after the ceremony we all changed into our bathing suits and went swimming and tubing all day!
The perfect ending to our wedding day was after all our guests left my husband and I tiptoed to the kitchen and pulled all of our wedding left overs out. We munched our delicious food as we reflected on our day.
