Happy Wednesday! We started the week off with a fall wedding but we’re moving onto spring for today’s gorgeous outdoor Maryland wedding. Shannon and Adam wed in April at Hunt Valley Golf Club and Muriel Silva was there to capture every detail, from the bride’s custom shoes to the fun and vibrant giant poms lining the ceremony aisle. Don’t forget to head back here later for the colorful reception that followed!
From Shannon: If I had to come up with just a few words to describe our wedding I would say: relaxed elegant. The biggest focus of the wedding was making sure our family and friends all had fun. We are both people that try not to take things too seriously and just like to have a good time. We wanted to have a party to be remembered with great music, food, drinks and fun. The girls wore short dresses and the guys were in matching suits so no one felt too formal. I love color and wanted to bring a bright, cheery, spring palate to our wedding day so I used teal, plum and orange.
We got lucky and the rain cleared just hours before our ceremony and we had a perfect spring day to get married on.
From the moment I started planning my wedding, I knew I wanted to wear teal shoes with my wedding dress, but after hunting for over a year I never found the right pair. Instead I found two pairs of shoes that I could dance in and that matched my wedding colors. To bring in the teal my mom made me decorations to attach to my shoes out of scraps from one of my bridesmaid’s dresses and the appliques that were cut off my dress when it was hemmed. I was so happy with my completely unique shoes.
