It’s time for a little waterfront action today, and it’s perfect timing for this lovely spring weather! Sonja and Kevin knew they wanted to have a bayside wedding and the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club was the perfect setting with it’s outdoor ceremony options and elegant dining setting (You’ll have to check out the reception right here!). They worked with the venue’s nautical feel, creating a fabulous lifesaver inspired logo to carry through the event. Another theme? A little tribute to their Alma Mater, Syracuse. In fact, Otto, the University’s mascot, managed to hop in front of The Happy Couple Wedding Photography’s camera more than once, too. All in good, orange and blue fun!
From Sonja: Although we grew up in different parts of Maryland, Kevin and I are both children of the Chesapeake and knew immediately that we wanted to get married on the water. The other element that we were sure of from the very beginning was our color scheme we met at Syracuse University and wanted to honor that by using shades of orange and blue.
We love the symbolism of a life preserver, so coupled that imagery with our initials to create a logo that was used on the programs, table names, and koozies.
My uncle officiated the ceremony and did a fantastic job. He spent a lot of time talking to us and our parents, and incorporated a lot of those anecdotes into the ceremony, making it funny, poignant, and very personal.
